June is Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month
The Humane Society of Greenwood is celebrating the American Humane Association’s National Adopt-A-Cat Month during June. It’s an ideal time to adopt a feline, since the spring and summer months typically bring a surge of kittens and cats to the nation’s shelters. The Humane Society of Greenwood encourages people to enrich their lives by adopting a cat.

Chili’s Sizzlin’ Showdown Golf Tournament Raises $4,400!
Thank you to Lowrie Wilson, of Chili’s Grill & Bar in Greenwood, and to the sponsors and participants who helped to raise $4,400 at this year’s Sizzlin’ Showdown Golf Tournament. Every year has been hugely successful and this year was no different. The weather was beautiful and the maximum number of golfers showed up to participate.

Homeward Bound Event Results
The May 4 and 5 adoption event drew over 100 visitors and resulted in the adoption of thirty-nine cats and dogs. The regular $85 adoption fee for dogs and $50 for cats was waived hoping the added incentive would encourage individuals to adopt a pet. All pets were spayed or neutered, vaccinated, heartworm or feline leukemia tested,
Homeward Bound Pet Adoptathon – May 4 & 5
We are excited to announce a pet adoption event to coincide with the Pet Adoptathons being held nationwide the first weekend of May. Our event will be held on May 4 and 5, at the Greenwood Adoption Center located at 235 Wilbanks Circle in Greenwood, SC. The regular $85 adoption fee for dogs and $50 for cats will be waived in a special called “Homeward Bound” and all adoptions will be FREE.
