Petco Adoptathon September 8th

Come out Saturday, September 8, to Petco in Greenwood, SC for their big Adopt-a-thon event. We will be there from 10a to 4p with adoptable dogs from the Greenwood County Animal Shelter and, of course, there are always available cats and kittens there, too! Your Missing Pet Could Be At Your Local Shelter

Most of the pets that end up at shelters are lost from their owners; however, a large percentage of pet owners never contact their local shelter in their search efforts. You could help reunite a Greenwood pet with its owner by encouraging your family and friends to contact the shelter at 864.942.8558 or emailing humane@gwdhumanesociety.org.

Food Lion Food and Supply Drive

Both Food Lion stores in Greenwood (SC) are having a food and supply drive for the Humane Society of Greenwood for the month of September. Look for the picture board display at each store for a wish list of items that we need for the animals. Imagine if everyone bought just one item on the list! Thank you and thank Food Lion!

TOGA PARTY ROCKS THE RESCUES!

Mayor Welborn Adams (2nd from right) joined Grand Harbor residents Bob Strazzella, Myles and Georgette Covert, Mary Ellen Neumann and more than a hundred other club members to “rock the rescues” at the second annual Animal House Toga Party benefiting the Humane Society of Greenwood. More than $11,000 was raised in support of the agency’s efforts on behalf of the area’s homeless animals.

Donation from Greenwood Municipal Federal Credit Union!

The Humane Society of Greenwood was selected by the GMFCU Board of Directors to receive a donation of $2,500! The monies were collected during October through December last year through their “Skip A Payment” program.
