Pets of the Week – May 19, 2014 (Violet and Festus)
Violet
Patiently sitting in her kennel, Violet wags her tail and smiles wide at every passerby. She loves to see new faces because her wonderful leash manners have made her a volunteer favorite for walks around the Civic Center. Her chestnut and white coat sparkles in the sun as she pads down the walkway,
Pets of the Week – May 12, 2014 (Willie and Bobby)
Willie
He’s an eye-catching Hound with old-fashioned charm, and that is just scratching the surface of this big galoot. As far as Willie is concerned, surface scratching is nice but ear scratches are better, and belly rubs are just the best. With just 2 years under his belt, he has grown to be one of the largest and sweetest Coonhound mixes seen at the shelter.
Pets of the Week – May 5, 2014 (Leara and Senna)
Leara
Her dancing heart was clearly untouched by whatever left the ballerina-pink scar on her side. 2 year old Am/Staff Terrier mix Leara’s as delicately feminine a young friend as you’ll find, a 48 lb. stunner who’s gentle, demure and graceful in every way. Whether she’s prancing the yard, sitting for a treat,
Pets of the Week – Week of April 28, 2014 (Digger and Myrna)
Myrna
Folklore says a Torti cat, or “money cat” like Myrna brings good luck; indeed this lovely 3-year-old will pay you in purrs, post-haste — from her midnight coat threaded with bright coppery gold, to her polite social demeanor, her cozy head butts and always-tidy box, she’s a treasure trove of pleasantries. Myrna gets along fine with other cats,
Pets of the Week – April 21, 2014 (Fairy Princess and Dizzy)
Dizzy
Plush as the most beloved Teddy Bear, with emerald green eyes and soft padded feet, Dizzy puts forth his best effort to fit perfectly into your heart. He has spent much of his 2 years outside, fending for himself, but this handsome feline has decided the housecat life is the one for him.
Pets of the Week – April 14, 2014 (Sophie and Cleo)
Sophia
The name Sophia has meant “wisdom” to the Greeks for thousands of years, but this Sophie thinks you can be both wise and silly. This striking American Staffordshire Terrier mix has a standout brindle pattern mixed with pearly white patches and has a smile that just doesn’t stop. She is 3 years young and is at the top of her training class.
Pets of the Week – April 7, 2014 (Copper and Amelia)
Amelia
Her well-made, neatly striped little body can hardly live up to her big, breathy purr; at one year old, darling Amelia’s a born lap cat, but cradle her in your arms and she’s equally pleased, the object of her affection is always you, despite getting along fine with other pets. Amelia was found stray,
Pets of the Week – March 31, 2014
Betty
Good manners make great fun, and our year-and-a-half-young Boxer mix Betty is here to politely prove it. Throw her beloved tennis ball and LOL when she races back with it — she’ll sit (quivering with anticipation) until you throw again, and again, and again. Betty’s a gentle, exuberant athlete who knows how to give soft kisses and how NOT to mess in her pen,
Pets of the Week – March 24, 2014
Venus
She’s named for the Roman goddess of love and beauty, but big-kitten Venus is too busy playing, purring and snuggling to notice such fancy things; at 6 months young she’s the perfect age for your kids, full of mischief and merriment but not too fragile or boisterous for them to handle. Venus was found stray with her sister,
