How to Begin the Process of Adopting a Cat
Print and complete the Cat Questionnaire and Adopter Informational Sheet. Bring them with you to the Adoption Center, located at 235 Wilbanks Circle in Greenwood, SC, and see which dogs could best suit you, your lifestyle, and home life.
If applicable, check with your landlord to ensure you are able to have pets on the property. Any pet deposits required by your landlord must be paid previous to the adoption or a letter from your landlord on company stationary stating they approve of adopter having a pet must be provided at the time of adoption.

Cat Adoption Fees
The adoption fee for kittens is $50. We have reduced adult cat (one year and older) adoption fees to $15. Each cat will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, Feline Leukemia tested, vaccinated (Rabies, 4-in-1 Distemper, and Leukemia), and dewormed.

Below are lost/stray cats currently impounded at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting one of the cats showing on this page, please contact the shelter at 864.942.8558. Be sure to give the Animal ID# and mention you saw the dog or cat on the Impound Page of the HSOG website.
Impounded and Stray Cats
These are animals who have been found and/or impounded at the Greenwood County Animal Shelter and we are hoping their owners contact us. If you see your pet here, or you recognize a pet and know its owner, please call us at (864) 942-8558. If you do not see your missing pet displayed on this page, please contact our office immediately to file a missing pet report.
You should know:
- The breed and age of animals are guessed
- If your pet has been missing for a while, he or she could look different than you remember. He could be thinner, matted or dirty, and look skittish in the photo.
- Proof of ownership is required (example: vet records, photo of pet, or any registration papers, etc.)
- Reclaim fees may apply
