IMPORTANT NOTE: Except for donations made in memory or honor of individuals, year-end letters will be mailed to all donors in lieu of individual thank you letters throughout the year. This allows funds spent on postage and office supplies to be used for the animals.

A bequest to the Humane Society of Greenwood will help continue our efforts for saving lost, abandoned, and abused animals. Please include the work of the Humane Society in your will. Whether your estate is $5,000 or $5,000,000, preparing a Will now is in your best interest and that of the animals. Doing so, avoids many legal complications, delays and possible adverse tax consequences. There are many other options for planned giving. They can provide you with tax benefits while they help the animals. Through a planned gift, you may be able to increase your current income or provide additional retirement income, while reducing income tax and estate taxes. Some types of gifts virtually eliminate estate taxes, while others greatly reduce the amount of tax you are responsible for during your lifetime. It is important to explore your options so that both you and the animals receive the full benefit of any considered gift. Please consult your lawyer about any detailed questions you might have regarding the preceding. Some options include:
Sponsor a cat or dog kennel and a sign will be displayed with your name, your company's name or in honor or memory of a loved one or pet.
