Twenty-eight children from The Sunshine House paid the shelter animals a visit and, as you can see, had a wonderful time! Along with their big smiles and big hearts, they brought donations of supplies, all of which we appreciated so much. Thank you to the Sunshine House staff and children for making our Monday so much fun!
We’re very excited for the Festival of Discovery celebration this week. The Humane Society of Greenwood is encouraging attendees to leave their dogs at home to avoid the very real risk of their over-heating and burning foot pads. The ground is usually 30 to 40 degrees hotter than the air temperature. July in South Carolina is just a very hot time of year.
Would you like to volunteer at the Animal Shelter? Between the hours of 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM, come to the July 7, 2012, Volunteer Orientation at the Greenwood County Animal Shelter located at 235 Wilbanks Circle in Greenwood behind the Civic Center. There are many ways you can help us and the animals.
We will have kittens and an adult cat available for adoption at Petco beginning Monday! Check out Royce, Bentley (pictured), and Baby. More kittens will be going there later in the week prepping for their big GRAND OPENING on Saturday, June 30. The store is located near the Wal-Mart Super Store on the 72 Bypass NW in Greenwood.
The Humane Society of Greenwood is celebrating the American Humane Association’s National Adopt-A-Cat Month during June. It’s an ideal time to adopt a feline, since the spring and summer months typically bring a surge of kittens and cats to the nation’s shelters. The Humane Society of Greenwood encourages people to enrich their lives by adopting a cat.
