ADOPTION: CATS

These two precious pups were found one night wandering the Greenwood Civic Center parking lot.  At first glance, they didn't even resemble puppies.  They looked more like lambs!  Both were suffering from severe malnutrition and mange.

They trotted off behind the Farmer's Market building and had "set up camp" under a huge tree.  Because they were afraid of us, we were unable to catch them that night.  No matter how much we tried coercing them, they wouldn't come out from behind the tangled web of branches.

We left food, water and a blanket for them hoping to gain their trust.  After two days, we were finally able to get to them and pull them out.  (They still wouldn't come to us on their own!)

Judging by their behavior, physical appearance, and the fact that they were abandoned, we assumed that they were mistreated or neglected by their former owners.

For several weeks the Humane Society  cared for them.  We saw them transform from mange-ridden, frightened puppies into tubby little bundles of joy.

Since they had not spent their first months of life enjoying the best of circumstances, we wanted to be sure that they spent the rest of their lives with people who would shower them with love.  And that's just what happened ...

Both were adopted into wonderful families.  They are reported to be bona fide couch potatoes and have gotten bigger and more beautiful with each passing day!
