Coolio’s Doing Cool

ORIGINAL STORY

Coolio“Coolio” was found by County Animal Control Officer, Scotty McClain, on February 27, lying in a ditch off of SC Hwy 25 South. He had been hit by a car and unable to move. He arrived to the shelter with a ruptured testicle, broken leg, and possible internal injuries as well. We posted his photograph on our Facebook page hoping to find his owners. In the meantime, he was taken to Chinquapin Animal Hospital to assess the extent of his injuries.

UPDATE

We are thrilled to report that Coolio came through his surgeries fine. (The top photo was taken the day he arrived at the shelter injured. The bottom two were taken March 12.) No one has come to claim him, but he’s resting comfortably in the Director’s office. Many have offered to assist with the medical costs and we are now asking for help. He had a ruptured testicle, so he was neutered, and had a pin placed in his back right leg, but bladder was not punctured, which we feared had happened. The costs, which were greatly discounted, are $600.

If you can help, please send donations to P.O. Box 49776, Greenwood, SC, 29649 or make an online donation on our website at http://www.gwdhumanesociety.org/save-a-life/?header and include that the gift is for Coolio. He, and we, thank you!
