Pets of the Week – January 14, 2013 (Autumn and Marion)

Autumn
Autumn

She’s a cat for all seasons — at least those in which a constant friend with an abundant, instant purr is welcome, one whose bounty is her full devotion to you. Pretty Autumn was turned in by her owner, an airy-soft, intelligent and warmly social 3 year old with a personality more colorful than her name; she comes when you call her, always ready for an entertaining meow-chat, or even a serious conversation about world events. Her concern and affection are endless, “Talk-rub-talk-rub-talk-rub” is her mantra, and she wants you all to herself, too. (Autumn would be a wonderful, gentle choice for children, but sharing you with other cats is beneath her.) When you tire of visiting she’s just as thrilled to curl up in your lap so you can admire her myriad markings; her coat’s immaculate and she’s already spayed and micro chipped, ready to go home with you today to prove just how delightfully opposite-of-aloof a cat can be. See what a genuine BFF feels like; and how much fun it is to have your very own Autumn.

Marion
Marion

Steel yourself for the blue-gray beauty of our exquisite American Staffordshire mix Marion; at 2 years old and only 48 lbs., she’s as ladylike inside as her chiseled Grace Kelly face — but when she breezes by to retrieve the last toy you threw, you’ll see that her passion for playtime is probably her greatest appeal. Marion was found stray, complete with manners so refined she’s too polite to shed; she’s calm in her kennel, affectionate and attentive when you let her out. Her love of a treat, avid intelligence and cooperative spirit make her achingly trainable — she already walks proudly on a leash and sits on command. We’re certain Marion will blossom in any size home with access to outdoor play space; bigger kids are perfect pals, she likes to choose her dog playmates and kindly requests “no cats.” See how pleasingly the clean cool of Marion’s gleaming coat belies her ardent warmth; you’ll meet the truest-blue companion you’ll ever find.
